How can I stay?
Families must be referred by a nurse or social worker at the hospital. A referral is not a reservation. Rooms are provided based on room availability, severity of diagnosis and distance traveled. Ask your child’s nurse or social worker about making a referral to us.
How do I know if I have a room at the House?
Once the referral and background check authorization form has been received from the referring hospital, the House staff will run the background checks and will call the family to provide a status update.
What is in the guests room and available at the House?
The Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House has 10 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Each room is supplied with linens and toiletry items. The House also includes a fully stocked kitchen, a laundry facility, two playrooms and a library, as well a large dining area, living room and several common areas equipped with TVs. There is no cost to stay at the House, but we ask each family to contribute $10 per night towards their stay to help defray costs. However, no one is ever turned away for inability to contribute.
