Hearts for the House: Our Story
When a child becomes seriously ill or injured, everything changes in an instant. Families often have to leave home quickly, sometimes traveling far from their community, to be close to the care their child needs.
During those moments, parents shouldn’t have to worry about where they will sleep, how they’ll afford meals, or how to stay together as a family. That’s where the Ronald McDonald House steps in.
Our House provides a home-away-from-home for families while their child receives medical care. We offer a warm place to sleep, home-cooked meals, laundry facilities, and, most importantly, a supportive community of people who understand what these families are going through. By removing everyday worries, we allow parents to focus on what matters most: being there for their child.
But we can’t do this alone.
Through Hearts for the House, students become part of something truly meaningful. By selling hearts for just $1, students help keep families close during some of the hardest days of their lives. Each heart represents compassion, kindness, and the belief that families belong together—especially during medical crises.
When students participate, they’re not just raising money. They’re learning empathy. They’re learning how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. And they’re helping families feel supported when they need it most.
Small hearts. Big impact for families.
Thank you for helping us keep families close—one heart at a time. ❤️
