From the moment, the doors opened at the first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House Charities has been McDonald’s charity of choice. This partnership has been on-going for more than forty years and been invaluable in the growth of Ronald McDonald Houses not only in the United States but all over the world.
McDonald’s provides support to us through the following:
Donation Box Program – Allowing us to places donation boxes in the local restaurants throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia that allows their customers to support us. Each year we receive $120,000 through the donation boxes and this a big help to our operating budget.
National Fundraiser – McDonald’s has at least one major fundraising event during the year. This event is a national event held throughout the McDonald’s restaurants with proceeds going to the local Ronald McDonald House in the local community. We also receive a penny for every Happy Meal sold throughout our service area.
Local McDonald’s Restaurants – There are more than 50 McDonald’s Restaurants in our service area. Each of the owner/operators support local events to raise money for the House; “Kids Helping Kids: Hearts for the House”; major sponsor of the golf classic; sponsor of the St. Pat’s Bash; provide money for Happy Wheels and have in-store events of their choice.
Although McDonald’s is our largest corporate donor, no company can solely fund our local Ronald McDonald House and projected growth. We need the support of the entire communities we serve throughout Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky and value any support you provide whether through cash donations, your time or through support of our fundraising events.
